It takes a while for a wound to heel, but the scar is there forever.
Did White Nation — cozily hunkered down inside their privileged white evangelical Christian gated communities — think they would get away with 400+ years
- dragging behind horses and trucks
- racism and prejudice
- wrongful convictions
- cheating and stealing, and
- knee-on-the-neck suppression of the pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness,
- Native American Indians
- African slaves, and
- Asian immigrants,
The racist white-privileged Christian nation has had a pretty good 400+ year run of supremacy in America, but unfortunately at the violent expense of tens of millions of natives and slaves and immigrants.
But look around, the white man is no longer the only game in town. This is not necessarily the time for white-privileged America to step down, but it is time to step over and make room on the podium for those people that the white man has decimated, enslaved, oppressed and discriminated against for so long, and to equally acknowledge and celebrate their achievements and work together to make this a more inclusive and fair democracy.
Walk a mile in the shoes of the oppressed, my white brother, and see how you and your family would feel generation after generation. It takes a while for a wound to heel, but the scar is there forever. Hate and white supremacy can no longer be the operating model in our democracy. It has to be love, caring, sharing, understanding, fairness, equity, inclusiveness, and justice.
How do we make it right once and for all and reboot America in the process?
